Dan Mills

Dan considers himself to be the luckiest photographer in the world...

As a young photographers assistant he was fortunate enough to be mentored by Helmut Newton, Annie Leibovitz, Peter Menzel and dozens of the most talented people in the business.

As a new photographer based in the San Francisco Bay area he was at the right place at the right time and began shooting for startups like Apple and Adobe. In the late 80's, shooting for magazines like Wired and MIPS he was one of the first photographers to work with Photoshop. It was Magic...

The advent of Hi Res digital cameras allowed him to cut the cord with big city film labs and in 2000 he opened a studio in the Napa Valley. The digital revolution was a perfect fit in the world of shiny bottles and complex reflections.  Since then he's worked with a wide array of clients and brands including Constellation, Trinchero, Jackson Family, Bronco, Duckhorn, Patz and Hall, Grgich Hills, Orin Swift, V2, Don and Sons, TOR, Wente, The Food Network, Napa Style, Foster Farms, The Perfect Puree, The Dairy Council of California, The California Milk Advisory Board, The Chilean Fruit Council, La Tortilla Factory, Chronicle Books, 10 Speed Press and Andrews McMeel Publishing.

In 2017 he moved his studio to the historic district in downtown Petaluma.
